About Us
John has earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation from the Professional Photography Certification Commission. Webb earned this designation after meeting rigorous requirements measuring his artistic and technical competence. The Professional Photographic Certification Commission currently recognizes less than 2,000 Certified Professional Photographers. John indicates he sought certification because he holds himself to a higher standard and believes that just as doctors and other professionals seek certification in their industries, he wanted to show his clients his qualifications and his commitment to continuing education to be the best photographer possible for them. When asked to describe his style and approach to wedding and portrait photography, John Webb calls himself a “storyteller.” His pictures speak volumes, but John’s persona is to remain unobtrusive, to document the event as quietly as possible as it unfolds in real time. Concurrently, he also looks for the smaller stories that may happen within the ceremony and celebration that might enhance the photographic memoir. While he composes approximately 85% to 90% of his images in a photojournalistic/ documentary style, John still believes a wedding day is based upon tradition and so he also offers customary, posed shots. His practice is to shoot with ambient light only because he believes that it better portrays the true character and ambiance for each chapter of the couple’s dream. Photography for John represents a medium that is based in emotions, so he emphasizes building a close working relationship with his clients beforehand, allowing him to develop a keen sense of awareness of their romantic narrative. Using those sentiments, combined with his passion for excellence, lets him create empathy with the bride and groom as he focuses on their precious vows and joy. His objective is to capture those priceless, significant life moments into magical images to be cherished and relived for years to come. John feels that a wedding is quite likely the most important day in most everyone’s lives, and that the occasion deserves to be covered by someone who loves and respects such a life event as he does. He always considers it a privilege to be invited to record those unforgettable memories for lovers.
